The practical rules for using this site

This website is operated by Mauvlabs Synergy under the Mauvlabs Advisory name. By using it, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

The website is general information

The site explains our technical cyber security advisory service and shares general educational material. It is not a security assessment of your systems, legal advice, regulatory advice, an incident response service or a substitute for advice based on your actual facts.

Security decisions depend on architecture, configuration, exposure, data, people and timing. Do not make a high-impact decision from a website article alone. If the matter is urgent, involves an active incident or could affect safety, legal duties or production systems, use an appropriate specialist channel.

Contacting us does not start an engagement

An email, form draft or introductory call does not create a client relationship and does not reserve consultant time. We only start advisory work after scope, responsibilities, fees and any confidentiality terms are agreed in a signed engagement letter or another written agreement.

If a signed engagement letter conflicts with these website terms, the signed engagement letter governs the client work. A non-disclosure agreement may also apply where one has been agreed.

Do not send secrets through the public site

The contact form prepares an ordinary email. Do not include passwords, private keys, production credentials, live authentication tokens, exploit code for systems you do not own, or personal data that is not needed for the first conversation. We can agree on a better channel if sensitive material is genuinely required.

We handle enquiries with care, but an unsolicited message does not create a special duty to accept, investigate or preserve every item sent to us.

Security testing requires written authority

Nothing on this website gives anyone permission to scan, probe, test or attempt to access a system. Any penetration testing, vulnerability validation or other intrusive work must be authorised in writing by the system owner, with a clear scope and rules of engagement, before it starts.

You must not use this site or its material to break the law, interfere with a service, invade someone’s privacy or test a third party without permission. If you believe you have found a problem in a Mauvlabs system, contact advisory@mauvlabs.com before taking any further action.

Service descriptions and prices

Website packages describe the usual shape of an engagement. They are not an automatic offer and do not promise availability. Prices are indicative, exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise, and may change when the scope, delivery location, risk, urgency or required specialists change.

Monitoring, formal testing, emergency response, forensic work and production changes are outside the advisory retainer unless we agree on them separately in writing. We do not promise that a client will pass an audit, avoid every incident or remove all security risk.

Our writing and brand

Unless a page says otherwise, the website copy, original diagrams, visual design and Mauvlabs branding belong to Mauvlabs Synergy or are used with permission. You may link to public pages and quote a reasonable extract with clear attribution. You may not republish a substantial part of the site, sell our material, remove ownership notices or present it as your own without written permission.

Client deliverables have their own use and ownership terms in the signed engagement letter. These website terms do not change them.

External services and links

The site links to services we do not operate, including the booking provider. Their terms, privacy practices and availability are their responsibility. A link is provided for convenience and does not mean we endorse everything on the destination site.

Availability and changes

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but websites sometimes have errors or downtime. We may correct, replace or remove content and change packages or prices without keeping every old version online. We will not quietly change a signed client agreement through a website update.

Responsibility for using the site

To the extent permitted by law, the public site is provided without a promise that every page is complete, current or suitable for a particular system. Mauvlabs Synergy is not responsible for a loss caused by relying solely on general website material instead of obtaining advice for the situation at hand.

Nothing here excludes a responsibility that Malaysian law does not allow us to exclude. Responsibility for paid services is dealt with in the applicable signed engagement letter.

Malaysian law

Malaysian law governs these website terms. A signed engagement letter may include more specific dispute and governing-law terms for client services.
